About the author of Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind

Zen Master Shunryu Suzuki, one of the most prominent Zen teachers in the West, profoundly impacted Zen philosophy and its practice in the United States and beyond. He helped found the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center in California, the first Sōtō Zen monastery outside of Asia. He taught in the US from 1960 until his death in 1971.
