Ross Johnson set into motion one of the most dramatic events of 1980s Wall Street when he sought the leveraged buyout of RJR Nabisco. A bidding war ensued between him and Henry Kravis, but ultimately Johnson’s greed was his undoing. He lost control of the company and inspired the image of the selfish corporate tycoon, which continues to this day.
