About the author of The Creative Brain

Nancy C. Andreasen is a neuroscientist and psychiatry professor at the University of Iowa. Before that, she was a professor of Renaissance Literature, switching careers when she became interested in neuroscience and brain disorders. Andreasen is a pioneer in the field of neuroimaging and conducted one of the first extensive studies of creativity. She received the National Medal of Science in 2000 for her achievements.
